El Torcal

Join us on a journey to one of Andalusia’s most surreal landscapes—Torcal de Antequera. With its otherworldly rock formations and dramatic limestone towers, this unique nature reserve feels like the set of a sci-fi movie. Walking through its maze-like trails, you’ll discover why this place is considered one of the most spectacular karst landscapes in Europe.

Our adventure begins in Fuengirola, where we travel about 80 km by minibus to Torcal de Antequera. Once there, we’ll hike a stunning 2.8 km nature trail that takes about 1.5 hours to complete. The path winds through breathtaking rock formations, shaped over millions of years by natural forces. Along the way, we may even spot some of the local wildlife, such as mountain goats or eagles soaring above us. The terrain is rocky, with some steeper sections, so a good basic fitness level and sturdy footwear (preferably hiking boots) are essential, and don’t forget your water bottle either. This hike is perfect for those who love unique landscapes, fresh mountain air, and a touch of adventure. After the hike, we’ll have about 30 minutes to visit the Torcal Alto visitor center. You can relax at the café with a drink or a snack and explore the exhibition, which showcases the fascinating history of the area through words and images.
